Here's how to check if assignments are done:
We have streamlined our work so the majority of assignments are assigned and graded in Google Classroom. There are a few assignments that are still assigned and graded in Stemscopes, so I will always let you know when to check for those. If it doesn't say "Stemscopes" in the plans, the assignment is in one of our Google Classrooms. (Math GC, ELA GC, Science GC, Social Studies GC). See below for instructions on how to check student work.
Google Classroom:
Go to www.classroom.google.com . Use your student’s Google username [email protected]. and password (panthers plus four digits) to sign in. .Example: panthers1234 Your child knows his/her digits.

The ABC's of Homework and Classwork - WHAT IT IS and Where To Find It!
Aeries - Attendance and Semester Grades are recorded in Aeries. You should receive log in information from the district.
Brainpop: To access Brainpop from home, go to www.brainpop.com and sign in.
Username: pacificlab Password: brainpop. Use the search tool to find the video or quiz that has been assigned.
Google Classroom: Students will join "classes" in various subject areas. There, they may access and turn in writing assignments, annotate pdfs of articles, maps, etc., access links to enrichment activities and videos, collaborate with classmates, and much more. To access Google Classroom, go to www.classroom.google.com and sign in with your Google username and password (same password as for Google Drive).
Google Drive - This is part of Google Apps for Education (GAFE). It is an on-line "file cabinet" for your child's work. Students can create documents, presentations, etc. and share them with me or with other students for grading and collaboration purposes. We do the majority of our writing work in Google Drive. To access Google Drive, go to drive.google.com. Log in with username [email protected] and password. Example: [email protected]. Student passwords begin with mbusd followed by 4 digits. Their passwords are recorded on the first page of their planners.
Genius Time - This is a time later in the year that is devoted to students pursuing their own projects. They will choose something they really passionate about and then spend time each week researching and learning more about it. Then they will create a project so that they can teach the rest of the class about it. Think 5th grade Ted Talk!
.
Quizlet - This website is for vocabulary practice for all subjects. Students log in via website www.quizlet.com or via the Quizlet app. Since Quizlet is such a useful tool for students to use for years to come, they may make their own accounts at home and access via the web or Quizlet app. We will not be making Quizlet accounts in class. If students would like to access my lists of vocabulary words for practice for various subjects including social studies, Wordly Wise, and core literature, they can do so by clicking here: Mrs. Hubbard's Quizlet
Scholars Speak Program - This is a writing/public speaking program in which your child writes a short piece on an assigned subject, illustrates it, and then presents it to the class orally. Students have assigned presentation dates and get feedback ("glows and grows") from our classroom audience.
Students must call Google Voice and record themselves reading their Scholars Speak essay prior to their presentation date. (424) 254-9705
Wordly Wise - Homework is completed in the Wordly Wise workbook and then corrected in class. Click here for
Wordly Wise Completion Instructions. Tests are taken online in Google Classroom. Parents are welcome to check student scores there.
